"Ulbert" is a documentary short about a 29 year-old painter from the suburbs of Chicago. In the last decade, Joe Ulbert has accumulated an extensive collection of acrylic paintings and sculptures made from found materials. His driving urge to paint is fueled by bipolar disorder. Daily life is a constant struggle to balance the extreme highs and lows of his manic tendencies while sustaining himself as a painter and a productive member of society.
